New Space Provides a Source of Comfort and Hope for Parents & Families in Need.
HeartTalks CIC, a not-for-profit organisation supporting parents & families affected by baby loss , is proud to announce the opening of its new peer support service in Midsomer Norton, Somerset. Officially launched in late November, this dedicated space offers a welcoming environment for emotional and practical support during some of life’s most difficult challenges.
The opening ceremony on November 30thwas marked by a ribbon-cutting led by Yvonne Bignall, Self-Care Coach and Non-Executive Director of Somer Valley FM, alongside HeartTalks founder Chantelle Walmsley. Bignall shared,
“It’s an honour to be part of HeartTalks' journey. Chantelle’s vision has come to life, creating a tranquil space where families can feel supported. I look forward to seeing the impact this space will have."
Made possible through the generous donations and fundraising efforts of the community, the new HeartTalks service provides a serene space for peer support, resource sharing, and group sessions. It’s a place where individuals can find connection and comfort. Founder Chantelle Walmsley remarked,
“We believe in the power of hope as a guiding light for those affected by baby loss, our space represents a commitment to providing support, compassion, and resources to empower individuals and families to connect and find hope. Losing a baby is a deeply personal and isolating experience and we want to ensure that those affected don’t have to walk this journey alone.”
As the first organisation in the local area to provide a dedicated ‘peer support’ space for those impacted by baby loss, HeartTalks will offer services including group support, pregnancy following loss support, community workshops, and creation & distribution of their care packages to local services. Chantelle added.
“It's about building a community where people can feel truly understood and supported."
The launch event gave visitors an opportunity to explore the new space, enjoy tea and cake, and learn more about the services available. HeartTalks encourages individuals from across Somerset and beyond to access the support they need during their journey through loss.
Generous donors, were honoured with a square on the service space donor wall, recognising their contributions to the project.
